You will have forty minutes for your StoryCorps interview. Think about two or three important areas you'd like to cover.

Don’t worry about preserving facts, such as names and dates; you can get those details down on paper later. Instead, use the session to capture stories and memories. In our experience, questions about feelings and emotions spark great conversations.

Every StoryCorps interview starts with an “ID” question: “Can you tell me your name, age, the date, and where we are?”

There are also a few questions that we’ve found are always great to include in interviews. Please check any that you would like to add to your list.
Great Questions

Who was the most important person in your life? Can you tell me about him or her?
Not sure that person can be named. Seen in Second Life total three times, but all pivotal.

What was the happiest moment of your life? The saddest?
Various moments of the love affairs and ditto.

Who has been the biggest influence on your life? What lessons did they teach you?
Do not spend too much time in SL.

Who has been the kindest to you in your life?
Another person unnamed. But perhaps not for the right reasons. It's crazy.

What are the most important lessons you've learned in life?
To separate fantasy from reality, truth from lies.

What is your earliest memory?
Welcome to an island and trying to navigate.

What is your favorite memory of me?

If you could hold on to one memory from your life for eternity, what would that be?
No one memory will do.

If this was to be our very last conversation, what words of wisdom would you want to pass on to me? (or more simply: Are there any words of wisdom you'd like to pass along to me? )
Be more careful than you ever thought you'd need to be. The seeming freedom and anonymity is illusory if not downright delusional, if that makes sense.

Have you had any experiences or moments in your life that you might consider sacred?
Brief glimpses, but no.

What are you proudest of in your life?
Service, interaction.

When in life have you felt most alone?
In clubs.

What are your hopes and dreams for what the future holds for me? For my children?

How has your life been different than what you'd imagined?
Much more fantasy and much more difficult. Not arts oriented.

How would you like to be remembered?

Do you have any regrets?
Many.

What does your future hold?
A question mark.

Great Questions

Who was the most important person in your life? Can you tell me about him or her?
Code Red until recently. Unfortunately, there was a problem we shared in the making.

What was the happiest moment of your life? The saddest?
The engagement. The fantasy there. When I realized my mistake, it was sad. I felt stupid. There have been other similar. Dumped. Abandoned. RL has been steady through all this by some miracle.

Who has been the biggest influence on your life? What lessons did they teach you?
Code Green. Attempted to "teach" a skill. I didn't learn it.

Who has been the kindest to you in your life?
Hard to say. Many have been kind. There are many superlatives.

What are the most important lessons you've learned in life?
A relationship involving virtual sex truly is more than I can handle.

What is your earliest memory?
Welcome island. But prefer to think of mentor I met very early on who is rarely in world. Advice was apt. Stay away from Second Life. Persist in not taking that advice.

What is your favorite memory of me?

If you could hold on to one memory from your life for eternity, what would that be?
Some innocent moments.

If this was to be our very last conversation, what words of wisdom would you want to pass on to me? (or more simply: Are there any words of wisdom you'd like to pass along to me? )
Avoid existential bad faith. Recognize it when it occurs. Root it out as quickly as you can. Get help if you need it. Be authentic, nothing less. Be a lady or gentleman, no matter your walk in life.

Have you had any experiences or moments in your life that you might consider sacred?
Yes, RL, but skating on thin ice to mention them. None particularly in Second Life, or I have forgotten them or failed to recognize and categorize properly what is sacred for this response. Highly likely, that.

What are you proudest of in your life?
Certain musical accomplishments that I are wholly here.

When in life have you felt most alone?
Dumped. Abandoned. Jilted. Those kinds of instances.

What are your hopes and dreams for what the future holds for me? For my children?

How has your life been different than what you'd imagined?
Different field, different way of treading water.

How would you like to be remembered?
Remembered?

Do you have any regrets?
Many.

What does your future hold?
Hard to say.

Is there anything that you've never told me but want to tell me now?
I'm sad at the moment but I have to make what staement I can. Things likely are not always like this.

[5:23:44 PM] kitchu...: What is your name, age, the date and where are now?
[5:24:24 PM] Kitten: Kitten, age 21 , oct,9,1988
[5:24:43 PM] kitchu...: What is the happiest moment of your life, the saddest
[5:25:57 PM] Kitten: The happiest moment of my life is every day,and the saddest moment of my life will probably be the day when one of my friends is traumatically hurt.
[5:27:05 PM] kitchu...: Who is/was the most important person in your life? Can you tell me about him/her?
[5:27:48 PM] Kitten: Albertlr landar and Kami yuhara, both mean the world to me and I treasure them immensely
[5:28:39 PM] kitchu...: Who has been the biggest influence in your life? What lessons did they teach you?
[5:30:59 PM] Kitten: my uncle, he taught me the greatest lesson of all, and that was to use your heart and your mind to overcome your obstacles and if you love something enough then nothing can keep you from your goals. Trust your instincts and even if fear keeps you from moving give a big yell break away and strive forward, life is too short to be held back~!
[5:31:22 PM] kitchu...: Who has been kindest to you in your life?
[5:32:16 PM] Kitten: I would have to say Albertlr landar, he took me in and gave me a chance at life when I thought it was over, and felt as though I didn't want to exist anyfurther
[5:32:34 PM] kitchu...: What are the most important lessons you've learned in life?
[5:35:18 PM] Kitten: I would say that the question is out of context, because we are always learning valuable lessons in life. things that can change our invironment, helping others, changing lives, finding ways ro say. you know life really is what you make of it. so lets make it the most enjoyable expirience ever!
[5:35:40 PM] kitchu...: What is your earliest memory?
[5:37:05 PM] Kitten: in all honesty I think it was the day my youngest sister was born. that would have too be one of my earliest memories I was playing kirbys dream land in the car waiting for my mom to get out of the hospital. and then I saw her and it was surreal.
[5:37:27 PM] kitchu...: Are there any words of wisdom you'd like to pass on to me?
[5:39:11 PM] Kitten: We all exist in the same light. we all have hopes , dreams, feelings, therefore. we all want to be happy. live and let live and always look on the positive even if someone hurt you. don't feed into the negative energy and the flow will always be positive.
[5:39:28 PM] kitchu...: What are you proudest of in your life?
[5:41:03 PM] Kitten: I can't really say, I think I need to find one first.
[5:41:12 PM] kitchu...: When in life have you felt most alone?
[5:41:54 PM] Kitten: I was about 14 and I was placed in a mental hospital for depression and a suicide threat. I felt extreamly alone there.
[5:42:01 PM] kitchu...: How has your life been different than what you'd imagined?
[5:43:09 PM] Kitten: Well I never had an image on life, just that I want to accomplish goals, live day by day, and I want to please those I love.
[5:43:18 PM] kitchu...: How would you like to be remembered?
[5:43:44 PM] Kitten: I would like to be remembered for being a rebel and fighting against the wrongs in life.
[5:43:49 PM] kitchu...: Do you have any regrets?
[5:47:08 PM] Kitten: my one regret is for not listening to my parents when I was younger, as well as being taken out of school, I have had a rough life but so has everyone. I made dumb choices and was extreamly ignorant in some cases. if I could go back and change them I honestly have to say I would want to though. because it all came out as life lessons and I'm a better person from the hardships
[5:48:19 PM] kitchu...: What does your future hold?
[5:48:55 PM] Kitten: I can't really say, I have no plans except to exist in peace and not to cause problems for others
[5:49:21 PM] kitchu...: Is there anything that you've never told me but want to tell me now?
[5:50:05 PM] Kitten: no , I have always been completely open and there is nothing I wouldn't say to you that I wouldn't say to anyone else
[5:50:22 PM] kitchu...: Is there something about me that you've always wanted to know, but never asked?
[5:51:11 PM] Kitten: Again not really, we share common emotions and goals as well as view points and strengths, I would think as close friends.
[5:51:51 PM] kitchu...: **************
[5:53:25 PM] kitchu...: Are you in Second Life to work (grow, develop, be more real somehow, extend your real life) or are you in Second Life to play (fantasy, beat someone as in chess or WoW)?
[5:54:13 PM] Kitten: I'm simply in secondlife for the social experience. I enjoy talking and learning and growing as a person
[5:55:04 PM] kitchu...: Restatement of question. Do you feel Second Life comes with consequences (similar to corporate avatar) or, whee!! No consequences?
[5:56:13 PM] Kitten: well the Term life at the end of second life would refer that there are consequences, because there are people attached to the avatars and they live breathe, co'exist, etc., as you would in real life, so yes there most certainly are.
[5:58:19 PM] kitchu...: We can surely assume this interview will be retained, preserved and with respect. What about publishing it anonymously on a blog (such as mask the names where they appear). For example, http://galoh.blogspot.com/
[5:59:59 PM] Kitten: I think that would be perfectly fine. but I would have to ask why be annonymous, If it can be used to show the rest of the world there are people out there that are full of love and want to strive for the betterment of mankind then I would air it openly and without fear. but that might also be part of my rebelious nature ^~^
[6:00:20 PM] kitchu...: If OK to be anonymous how about just put the names?
[6:00:35 PM] Kitten: please be Open xD
[6:00:42 PM] kitchu...: .................................
