Kelp as sculptural expression (David and Goliath project)
These are the two best models so far (fragments, actually) of a project where I saw myself as Goliath lying in a good size kelp pile on the beach, a natural effigy, a found temporary sculpture that is very similar in feeling to the original found object, Goliath, which was heavy marine hardware made of cast steel and wood that was found on the Embarcadero in San Francisco many years ago and lost by being left behind in an early, hasty move from a Victorian flat in Dogpatch.
